The Reading World Tour is a project I decided to start on January 1, 2021. The purpose of this project is to embrace the perspectives of people throughout the world and to learn more about cultures and countries that are different from my own. The premise is simple. Attempt to read at least one book by an author from every country in the world, preferably set in that country as well. I am limited to books that have been translated into English, but otherwise any genre is acceptable. I will also be doing some basic research on each country as well, to increase my own knowledge of the different countries in the world. It is my hope that reading the words and perspectives of authors from other countries about their countries will help me broaden my understanding of the global village we all are part of, which can help me understand better how to be a better citizen of the world we share.
As I finish books, I will post a review on the blog, and this list will contain links to the different reviews. I may also post other books that I came across but didn't read for this project. It is my hope that others will join me in this endeavor and we can share our insights with each other. Will you join this Reading World Tour?
