Wedding Plans - Setting the date

So the first big decision has been made - our wedding date.  We have decided, because we are seriously sentimental, to have our wedding on the date that will be our two year "relationship" anniversary.  On October 30, 2009, we met up with some of my theatre friends and drove (in costume) to a showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show at Pensacola Little Theatre.  I was Magenta and he was Brad.  I don't know if it was the fishnets, the sexy heels, or the red wig, but for some reason, that was the night he asked me to be his girlfriend.

So we decided it's only right to have our wedding on our anniversary - plus it's easier to remember that way!

Our official wedding date is October 30, 2011.  The wedding will be at 2 pm.  Reception to follow immediately.

I! Can't! Wait!

The Proposal

On Valentine's night, we got all dressed up and went to dinner at Macaroni Grill (where we had our first date.)  After dinner, we came home to our little apartment and exchanged gifts.  He gave me a lovely gift bag that contained a soft, sweet little teddy bear.  He said it was for me to take with me when I travel so I would have something to hug when I am away from home.

I thought that was all that was in the bag, so I started to put it down and tell him "thank you," but he got it from me and said there was something else.  I reached into the bag and came out with a little "treasure chest" that I had seen at Hobby Lobby several days before and raved about.  It was so cool and I had thought about buying one for little trinkets, but didn't.  I opened the treasure chest to find a little white box.  He took the little box from me and got down on one knee.  Right there in front of our couch, with Kaylee as our witness, he proposed.  The ring is beautiful and I love it!

We will be married on October 30, 2011.

Work Travel - Texas

My second work trip, Fort Stockton, Texas.  I traveled with a man who has worked in our department for a couple of years and I feel like I learned a lot from him.  He was fun to travel with too.  We did a CPOE install, which means it was a two-week trip.  We did come home on the weekend between the two weeks, though.

Fort Stockton is a little town in West Texas.  It's very dry and dusty, but the people are really nice and the hospital, while small, was a very nice facility.  The install went pretty well and I had some interesting times in the town.  I took the car one night and went geocaching around town and found some really neat places.

The way to the hospital was through the oil fields of Texas.  I spent a lot of time taking photos of those big oil pumps in the ground that look like grasshoppers.  They are so cool looking!  And the windmills were pretty awesome too.  We passed a wind farm and all you could see across the horizon were these graceful white windmills.  It was awesome. Check out the oil pump thingie!

The Fort Stockton historic cemetery, which contains a geocache, but I couldn't find it!
