Project 365 - Day 140

Dear Nathan (8 months old)

Dear Nathan,

You turned 8 months old over the weekend and with that milestone came another.  You started crawling!  The day you turned 8 months old was the day you crawled for the first time.  It was quite a moment for us.  We even got it on video, so that we can torture you with it later.  :)

You have continued to grow and develop on track, which is great.  We have happily discovered you are not, in fact, allergic to strawberries (thank your dad for that - he forgot his smoothie had strawberries in it and gave you some) so you can have your strawberry apple puffs again.  You have also discovered that you love cheese.  You've been eating these little cheese puff things and then you stole some cheese out of my snack pack.  From that moment, you never looked back.  You wanted real cheese!

You are pulling up on everything now too, which is both thrilling and nerve racking because I want you to learn how to walk, but I really don't want you to fall and hit your head.  But then again, what's childhood without a few bumps and bruises, right?  You've bumped your head several times while learning to crawl, and every time, you cry and want to be held for a few minutes, then it's back down to the floor to try again.  I love that you are so determined.

Another thing I've noticed is that you have such great focus for your age.  When you want something, you zero in on it and won't stop until you get it.  At times, that's difficult because it is something we don't want you to have.  But for the most part, it's pretty amazing to watch.

You continue to be sweet and snuggly, and you still love for me to sing you to sleep.  Songs I'm singing now include Danny Boy, The Lonesome Dove, The Rose, and Into the West.

Your daddy and I are enjoying watching you grow and become a little person.  It's thrilling and so much fun.

Love, with all my heart,

Mommy
