Homemade dog food for your furbabies

If you're like us, you're always searching for the very best food to give your dogs.  I like to call Kaylee our "special needs" furbaby because she has so many stomach issues and can't tolerate most dog foods.  We end up having to give her boiled chicken and rice several times a year because her irritable bowel flares up.  (Did you even know that dogs could have that?  I didn't!)

I wish I had known about this sooner, so we could have been using it for Kaylee when she needs something special.  But really, this looks easy enough to do every week.  Check it out - Coco's Canine Cuisine.

The description on their website reads:

Coco’s Canine Cuisine is a healthy mix for homemade dog food. Coco’s is an inexpensive, quick way to make food for your dog at home. We created Coco’s in 1998 based on a family recipe we fed our dogs throughout our childhood. We wanted to create a way busy dog owners can quickly make about a weeks worth of healthy human grade food for the dogs they love.

Sounds pretty cool, right?  But what about making dog food - aren't we too busy for that?  I mean, with work and kids and taking care of said canines, do we really have time to create homemade dog food?  According to Coco's Canine Cuisine, absolutely!  Turns out it only takes about 25 minutes to make a week's worth of food.  You do need to provide some type of meat to mix with the package of Coco's Canine Cuisine food, but that's all you need - a package of the food, a pound of meat, and some water.

There's a lot of mistrust in the dog food industry right now, with people wondering if the food they buy is really everything it claims to be.  There are claims that processed foods can lead to health problems and even death.  Making your own dog food is a good alternative to buying the processed bags of food.  Coco's homemade dog food uses human grade ingredients and is veterinarian approved.  And you can get a free sample if you want to see how your dogs like it.  I'm pretty sure I'm going to be ordering a free sample for our furbabies!
